About

Welcome to Psychedelic U. This site is currently in public beta. We look forward to hearing your comments and corrections as we add more content, make adjustments, and expand the information and resources offered.

Psychedelic U is a knowledge portal for learning about mind-manifesting substances that produce profound altered states of consciousness. We first focus on the well-known psychedelics, LSD and psilocybin, which is the active ingredient in magic mushrooms. And we include two other compounds, MDMA, also known as “molly” or “ecstasy,” and ketamine, which are not considered classic psychedelics.

Psychedelic U will expand to provide information about other substances, including DMT, which is found in ayahuasca, ibogaine, which is found in the iboga shrub, and mescaline, the psychoactive component of peyote and San Pedro cactus.

On Psychedelic U you will find both introductory and more in-depth information about psychedelic substances, their medical potential and cultural use. We include footnotes to sources, and recommended resources for more detailed, vetted information.

Psychedelic U is produced by Lucid News, a journalism platform that provides informed and balanced coverage of the integration of psychedelics into society. Lucid News was founded by longtime participants of psychedelic communities who bring experience, discernment and a healthy skepticism to this work.
