How My Quest for Power Revealed I Am My Own Shaman
“I learned about love, about love to myself. I learned about power, about the power that I have to change my own reality. And I learned that I don’t need teachers, I don’t need guides, I don’t need shamans. I am my own teacher, my own shaman.”
In this episode of Adventures of the Psyche, we are joined by Gabriel Amezcua, who shares how his search for power and shamanic wisdom led him on a most unusual adventure of heartbreak and self-love in Central America.
Gabriel is a Mexican activist specializing in the anthropology of mental health and has founded several harm reduction, drug policy reform, and psychedelic care organizations in Mexico and Germany. He currently works as a consultant on psychedelic medicine for the Open Society Foundations (OSF) and for the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS).
Join filmmaker and host Mareesa Stertz for a brief visit into other realms where guests share personal stories of illumination, healing, and transformation through their use of psychedelics. See more Adventure of the Psyche episodes here.
